Ngā mihi o te wā me te aroha nui, nā Photographicamismo
The title means Merry Christmas with love from Photographicamismo in Maori which is rather fitting seeing as I'm spending Christmas at home in New Zealand. We have a fantastic tree ...
... and the moon was bright tonight

The Photo Album - Volume One
I have a German back-packer friend staying with me and as a thank-you gift/ early Christmas present she gave me The Photo Album - a book published by Frankie magazine :) So happy as I've wanted to buy it anyway!
a man and his shoes
I walk to work in the morning and I often take my camera just in case there's something to photograph (98% of the time there is). One morning sun was shining on the window of this shoe shop so I proceeded to take photos of of the shoes. The owner came out and showed me inside where he had newspaper clippings where other photographers and journalists had taken a photo of him. When I asked him if I could take a photo he said "of course" and here is the result. He just has one of those photogenic faces.
PhotoBooth project- "The photobooth is alive"
While moseying around the Blackbird Markets in Fitzroy I came across Abbey and her photography project- PhotoBooth. The project began at the Northcote highviews festival. Steps to taking part in the project:
1. Sit in front of the PhotoBooth mirror"Gazing into a full length mirror in sight of those around them they are at once in a private moment yet in a public space."
2. One two three - the photo is taken
3. Wait approximately one week for your image to appear on Abbey's blog.
4. You are now part of the PhotoBooth project.
Read more about Abbey, her project and view her images.

Super Mercado
While wandering around the streets of Fitzroy one fine Saturday I stumbled upon the blackbird markets at the workers club.
There were corners, nooks and crannies full of crafts, clothes, bands, beer.

Melodius Operandi
Through a friend I was introduced to Melodius Operandi, a music ensemble with members from France, Borneo, Thailand, Colombia and India. I went and checked out their performance at an asylum seeker community centre in the Melbourne CBD.
and a couple of audience members
Melbourne Masterpiece
I took these shots while doing what I do best, wandering around Melbourne people watching... This guy was incredible, he creates these masterpieces on canvas outside on the pavement for all the passers by to see. Such amazing talent.

Is this you?
Have you ever lost a photo or a roll of film? Do you wonder where it could have gone? Someone has probably picked it up along the way and there could be a chance that it ends up here on this site . Is this you? attempts to bring lost photos and their subjects together, and it actually works!

My parents were awesome
Your teenage years may have been full of eye rolling at your Dad's jokes or cringing at your Mum's high waisted shorts but as you look back on old photographs you will realise that your parents were infact...pretty awesome. Send your old photos of your awesome parents to this site - a page created by blogger Eliot Grazer.
Were my parents awesome? I think so...and they still are. aww! That's them, right there, both in matching blue.

Do you like dark corners? Do you like laneways with galleries and small hidden away men's wear shops? Do you like the idea of a French creperie around the corner? Then Rankin's lane is for you!

Judging a Book by it's Cover
photo courtesy of Australian Harper's Bazaar
I love love love the December cover of Australian Harper's Bazaar. Miranda Kerr looks gorgeous and sparkley in her green dress. So Summery and fresh after these dreary winter days and semi-spring afternoons.

Wedding Photography
My good friend from New Zealand & her fiance are getting married next year in beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand. Last night I received a message that they would like me to be their photographer. What an honour! I've never photographed a wedding before but I am very excited to be a part of their special day. Now I am hunting for inspiration and ideas. Wedding photography comes in all forms & I believe some of the best wedding photos come out of spontanius moments - a sneaky kiss, a quiet chat between mother & bride or Grandpa Jo busting a move on the dance floor.
I love the idea of something unique and different for a wedding photo and using natural light really appeals to me. On the wedding photography hunt I found W. Scott Chester's photography through New York blogger Joanna Goddard & her own wedding photos were taken by Max Wanger . The thing I love most about these photographers is the vividness of the colours and the cute & fun props they use throughout the shoots.

The Satorialist
If you're anything like me and you're always gandering at street fashion when you're out and about, you'll love The Satorialist . For four years Scott Schuman has given his readers a daily fix of stylish street folk in Milan, New York, Paris & beyond. In the middle of this year Schumann went from blog to print releasing a book version of his online photo journal. His non pretentious, easy going, polished & relaxed photography makes his blog and now his book even more pleasant to click or flick through.
