It's Lovely O'Lovely

I've always wanted to do a 60's styled shoot so when the opportunity arose to take some pictures for O'Lovely, I decided to draw inspirations from my favourite era. I was inspired by this image which lead to the shoot having a story of two girls running away from home.

Many thanks to Laura & Shakira for their amazing modelling, Jo from The Visualary for her beautiful styling, Mel from Milk and Miel for providing beautiful analogue photos which you can see on her blog and my dear friend Fran for hooking this up & being a great help on the day!

The Black & White Of It

I'm a huge fan of black and white photographs. I love their ability to make a subject uncomplicated allowing you to really focus on it's simplicity or the small details that seem to stand out more when only two colours (plus a few greys!) are involved. I've been delving into my photo archives and using my new photoshop skills I learned in blogshop and it's fair to say this is something I'm loving right now. I'm also a gigantic fan of Frank Habicht's black and white work from the 60s. I hope to meet him someday and pick his brain on what Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg were like in their prime...
