I Heart Blogshop

Me and Mel (of Milk and Miel fame), recently took a 'business trip' to Sydney to attend Blogging and Photoshop workshop, BlogShop. The 2 day workshop was hosted by my blogging idol Bri Emery of Design Love Fest and photography genius Angela Kohler. I've always struggled with photoshop and right when I was about to throw in the mouse, the girls whipped me right back into shape. The fun and colourful workspace at Studio Neon was the perfect setting to motivate and keep us inspired in our learning (food was pretty darn good too, thanks chef). I met so many lovely, stylish and talented ladies who have all inspired me to push myself a little harder when it comes to blogging.

(this last photo of me is by mel dixon, thanks mel!)

and here is a video re-cap by Anette Wilson, you can see how much fun it was!

wildflowers, seashells and ocean swims

Well, it's the first post for 2013. While I've been a bit slack with posting in 2012 I thought I'd kick off the new year with a post of my summer holiday in New Zealand. Each year when I was a kid my family and I would head up from Christchurch to Kaiteriteri. Now Mum and Dad have a batch in Little Kaiteriteri and the tradition lives on. I love summer in NZ, spending my days going for bush walks, eating fresh mussels from the sea, picking wildflowers, collecting shells and swimming in the ocean...

Portuguese Polaroids

I recently took a trip to Portugal and found the tiles the most appealing part of the trip. Here are some I fancied.

Fruity Times in the City

Some more photos from the 110 film, mainly of fruit. I like the colours & the sunlight.

Up the Pink

Pink is a funny colour. It's cliche, feminine, flowery and frilly. It may not be edgy or strong but I love it. Embrace the pink ladies!

I hope you like this one, it was taken with a 2 year old 110 film from a toy camera that my friend gave me for my birthday. I'd forgotten what was on the film. I especially like my shadow fingers sticking out in the bottom left corner, I must of been concentrating hard on composition & being careful not to put my fingers over the lens!)

Chanelle 2012

I've been a busy little bee these past few weeks, but in light of all the business (haha!) I'm pleased to present...my latest shoot with none other than Chanelle Davis! Chanelle is a musician from NZ who, like many of us kiwis, has taken the Melbourne path. She's extremely talented & a super amazing bonus is that she writes her own music. So dear readers, if you're longing for some beautiful tunes for your morning commute or lazy Sunday, you can have a listen to Chanelle here .

We took our shoot to the Abbotsford Convent (who by the way, were super nice at letting us shoot there) and despite the chilly weather and spots of rain, we had a seriously fun day.  This was mainly thanks to Chanelle's pretty pink coat and the teams inability to keep a straight face throughout the afternoon. I was also very lucky to collaborate with film & lomo lover Mel from Milk & Miel , she's added some of her gorgeous shots to her blog.

Acclaim'd it!

Street lifestyle magazine, Acclaim, called on me to shoot a gallery opening for their Carbon Festival on Thursday. The punters braved the rain and packed into the cosy south of the border RTIST Gallery to see works by Faith47 and DALeast. See the night in it's entirety & write up here. Thanks Acclaim!
